Electric vehicle sales in China jumped 47.9%.
Sales in China jumped 47.9% in September, while European EV sales rose 4.2%.
Global EV and hybrid sales rose 30.5% in September. China surpassed its record highs set in August and Europe resumed growth, Rho Motion reported on Tuesday, October 15.
Sales of electric vehicles – both fully electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) – are set to reach 1.7 million worldwide in September 2024.
Sales in China jumped 47.9% last month to 1.12 million vehicles, while the US and Canada both grew 4.3% to 150,000. In Europe, electric vehicle sales increased by 4.2% to 300,000 units.
It is expected that electric vehicle sales in Europe will reach 3.78 million units in 2025 and 9.78 million units in 2030.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 4,289 vehicles powered by battery power sources in September. Compared to September 2023, demand for electric vehicles decreased by 0.2%.
