Paul Wesley to Star in Miniseries About the War in Ukraine

The American actor will star in the six-part thriller Unspoken, set against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

American actor Paul Wesley, known for the series The Vampire Diaries, will play the lead role in the miniseries Unspoken, dedicated to the events of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by the publication Deadline.

The miniseries will consist of six episodes in the thriller genre. The script was written by Polish writer Filip Syczynski and Ukrainian director Zhanna Ozirna, known for the film Honeymoon.

The plot revolves around the main character Pavel (Paul Wesley), a former soldier who works as a taxi driver in Poland. He learns about the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion from his wife, who remained in Ukraine. Paul returns home to save his family, plunging into the chaos of war. In addition to external threats, he is engaged in an internal struggle for redemption and resilience.

The series will be directed by David Strathairn, known for his projects Magnum Opus and The New Agent McGuire. Filming is scheduled for the winter of 2025-2026 in Eastern Europe in a four-country co-production: Ukraine, Poland, Germany and the United States.

The series promises to be one of the first large-scale international projects dedicated to the war in Ukraine and to draw the world’s attention to the tragedy of millions of Ukrainians.

It was previously reported that five members of the film crew of the film Dovbush died, and seven are considered missing while serving at the front.
